Every second weekend,...

6 seasons, 7 Grand Tour wins and thousands of collaborative hours spent working on finding marginal gains. Team INEOS has a perceptual drive to continuously improve; thriving on challenges and ambitious goals, and this is something that we, at Muc-Off, share. As we wait for the 2020 season to get back underway, let’s look back and take a closer look at some of the innovations born from the partnership since it began back in 2014. Hydrodynamic Lube Born in 2014 and baptised at the most famous French road race in the world, with the worst weather conditions seen in years,...
Concentrating on the environment
Posted by Alex Trimnell on

The Great Outdoors is our playground. The woods, the open roads, the gravel paths. They all contribute to our daily dose of stoke and are a constant source of inspiration when it comes to designing our products. Naturally, this means that respecting, but also preserving those is important to us, and something we always consider when expanding our range. Aside from using better, more environmentally friendly ingredients or recyclable packaging, we also think of the way and the rate at which our customers use our products. With this in mind, we wanted to highlight our Cleaner Concentrate offering by catching...

Crankworx Whistler - Recap
Posted by Alex Trimnell on

It’s the most anticipated MTB event of year and held at the mecca of all things shred. For another year, we descended on the quaint mountain town of Whistler, Canada for the raddest festival of the year. The Muc-Off riders were there in force, alongside our crew, to cover the week’s worth of shredding. The sun rose on Wednesday morning and with fully stocked shelves, a ton of goody bags and a belly full of poutine, we were ready to tackle the Crankworx crowds! It was the first day of our official Crankworx attendance and also the first day of...
Team INEOS Memorabilia at Muc-Off HQ
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

Come take a peek at our Team INEOS swag from Grand Tours past! We've got a pretty tidy collection of signed jerseys and a pretty special set of awards, let's take a closer look... 2015 Team Sky Jersey signed by Chris Froome Despite starting the year off with a bad chest infection which meant him missing some of the season openers like Tirreno-Adriatico and crashing at La Fleche Wallonne, Chris Froome went on to win Le Tour GC for the second time (see below). He also received an OBE from the Queen for his services to cycling. Yellow Jersey signed by Chris...
Getting Muc-y with Tahnee Seagrave
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

Ever fancied speed-dating one of our Muc-Off athletes? Well this is probably as close as you’ll ever get to do this… Welcome to ‘Getting Muc-y with…’, our brand-new series where we dive into their world and ask them the all-important questions (all the while satisfying your short attention span). This week, we catch up with the one and only Tahnee Seagrave. Tahnee should need no introduction, but for those who just don’t know (seriously?), here goes. We call her the Princess of Downhill, because she loves pink (like us), and along with a handful of other riders, dominates the world of...
Tour De France - Rest Day Maintenance
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

Phase one of Le Tour De France is now done and dusted, and with that the riders have completed around half the overall mileage of this year’s edition already. While the long flat early stages have allowed the sprinters to rack up some valuable points, Stage 6 (which ended on the steepest climb yet) was very revealing in showing some of the riders’ true form and potential for the overall win. Geraint Thomas, who is defending his 2018 title, was one of them. His heroic comeback in La Planche Des Belles Filles (scraping a 4min gap with 6km to go)...

Mountain of Hell - A Muc-Off Recap
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

Last weekend saw the 20th edition of the Mountain Of Hell take place in Les 2 Alpes, France. As mentioned before (right here), this race not only features the highest glacier start in the world at 3,500 metres but is also the only race of its kind to feature a “mass start”, where all 1,000+ riders start from the top at the same time. Muc-Off was an official sponsor of the event and with such an exciting line-up ahead we decided to fly down from the UK to support our French distributors Race Company and cheer our Muc-Off supported racers on...
ROAM Bike Fest - an MTB festival with a difference
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

This weekend is going to be a busy one for Muc-Off. Alongside supporting Sky Racing Team VR46 at the MotoGP in Jerez and Scott Redding at Round 2 of the Bennetts British Superbikes Championship in Oulton Park, we’ll also have a team present in Brevard, NC for the ROAM Bike Fest. ROAM is an amazing MTB event and we thought we’d catch up with the founders to explain exactly why. Hey! Thanks for chatting to us, let’s start with the obvious: what is ROAM Bike Fest? Roam Bike Fest is the world’s first, and largest, women’s mountain bike festival. It...
Marginal Gains: Nanotube Chain Treatment for Team INEOS
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

Developed originally for Bradley Wiggins’ Hour Record in 2015, the nanotube chain (NTC) process is the culmination of thousands of hours of research and development into drivetrain optimisation by Dr Martin Mathias AKA ‘Doctor M’ and Muc-Off MD Alex Trimnell AKA ‘Mad Developer’. For special occasions like the Tour De France, the guys at Team INEOS send their chains over to us for the full NTC treatment. Here’s a run-down of the process step-by-step. STEP 1 Doctor M runs one of the chains through the Muc-Off dynamometer using a simulated load specific to a road-race to measure its performance pre-treatment. STEP...

Today we catch up with Duncan Shaw, trials extraordinaire and full-time stuntman for the Drop and Roll Tour. Duncan’s one of the nicest and most handsome Scottish blokes you’ll ever meet, hands down. He’s also pretty handy on anything two-wheeled. Could you describe yourself in three words for those who don’t...
Mountain of Hell - welcome to France’s craziest downhill event
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

This weekend we’re heading off to France to attend the nation’s most famous marathon downhill event: Mountain of Hell. Much like the famed Megavalanche, this race starts in the snow, at sky high altitude, and puts all riders involved to the test over its 25km long and 2,500m high technical downhill track. We catch up with Flo Baladier, Customer Service Manager at Raceco (our French distributors), to find out more about what is sure to become a weekend to remember. He should know as he came 4th in the 2018 edition! 1. Hey Flo, thanks for chatting to us. Let’s start...

Fort William 2019 - A Muc-Off Recap
Posted by Mucoff Admin on

A weekend full of highs and lows… It was wet and wild this weekend in Fort Bill, but it's fair to say the atmosphere was electrifying as always. Whilst the extremely muddy conditions took out a few of the top names, a few others thrived on the difficulty and put on performances to remember. With his extraordinary second place, Troy Brosnan takes the leader’s jersey going into Leogang next weekend. His final run was nothing short of insane, scraping 3.6 seconds off Finn Iles’ time. If it wasn’t for Amaury Pierron going full beast mode, he’d had brought it home… A tough weekend...
