Introducing the next generation of downhill mountain biking... Muc-Off Young Guns! A team that is as much about the fun of racing, the joys of roadtrippin’ and the fist pumps after first hits as it is about winning races. Representing some of the best riders from the shores of Great Britain and born from a generation of 90s MTB racing.

The foundations of the Muc-Off Young Guns were unknowingly laid back in the late 80’s and early 90’s when Paul Bowell (Team Founder) threw his leg over a mountain bike for the first time. Paul went on to race in his youth and then began working in the industry and became one of the original founders of Wiggle.

After whipping the sheets of his mountain bike and embarking on a two-wheeled trip of a lifetime in places like Nepal, Morocco and Europe, he began reminiscing about the good old days of racing as a young gun and decided to set up his own Youth Team with support from his own network, and that’s when the concept of the Green Snow Collective was created.

Just a few years later, they have an ever-growing team of some of the best UK talent in the MTB youth scene now. And with that, one of the first sponsors to put their hand up back in 2019: Muc-Off stepped up in 2022 with support to help drive the team forward under the current name ‘Muc-Off Young Guns’

Muc-Off Young Guns are here to help young riders to become the best version of themselves on and off the bike. Inspiration beats winning, and that’s what the team are all about! Their mission as a team is to show as many other young riders as possible how great our sport can be, encouraging them to enjoy it to its fullest; whether that means by going faster, going higher or just going. They’re made up of five epic young shredders:

The Squad:

Heather Wilson – age 16

Already making waves, this Scottish lass has already won her age category in 2021 and 2022 at the British Downhill Series and won the National Championships twice. Based up in the Scottish Highlands and Nevis Range DH track on tap, she is one to watch!

Luca Thurlow – age 17

One of the steeziest fastest young riders in the UK and his first season of World Cup Racing under his belt, Luca has his eyes on the podium at this year’s Word Cup.

Lucas Craik – age 17

Sends everything, super quick, madly smooth and talented behind the lens too. He will also be repping GB this year on the world cup circuit in ’22. Brother of Ethan Craik, the speed genes are strong here.

Max Lewis – age 14

Still relatively new to MTB but absolutely smashing it already with various podiums in his first couple of seasons racing. One to watch, you heard it here first!

Louis Pearn – age 12

Little Louis is a pocket rocket on a bike and laughs a minute off the bike. Only 12 but already showing some serious skills, hitting huge jumps and flying down technical descents. We’re excited to see how he progresses over the next couple of years!
