About the role

The business has an aggressive strategic growth plan and is now ready to embark on our own warehouse to support our US and Canadian customers and distributors. As a Forklift Crew Member, you will play a crucial role in running a key part of the Distribution Operation. The role is diverse with responsibility for all areas of stock (finished goods and componentry) and finished order movement and storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for driving Forklift trucks to transfer pallets across all areas of the DC including into and out of racking.
  • Manoeuvring forklifts safely in a busy industrial environment and adhering to the expectations of the business Health and Safety culture.
  • Deliver against all quality expectations of the area e.g., 100% accurate checking of inbound loads, checking of loads for shipment, container loading to high standards of integrity.
  • Own all the processes (physical and relevant system transactions) associated with stock movement and customer orders into and out of the DC.
  • Ensure all material handling equipment (e.g. Forklift Trucks) is respected in use, that full pre-use inspections are carried out, and that any incidents are reported.
  • In addition to driving FLTs, as a member of a multifunctional team, carry out other activities associated with working in a Distribution Centre including order picking and packing when required.
  • Proficient and accurate use of scanning equipment.
  • Proficient use of IT software to create basic documents and labels.
  • Manual handling is an integral part of the role (e.g. consolidation of stock onto pallets); you will need to be physically fit to meet this requirement.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure daily performance targets are met.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at a high level.
