About the role
The business has an aggressive strategic growth plan and is now ready to embark on our own warehouse to support our US and Canadian customers and distributors. As an Operations Inventory Controller, you will play a crucial role in running a key part of the Distribution Operation by being the main point of contact for stock-related issues impacting operational performance, communicating issues in relation to maintaining the integrity of physical stock versus the system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out routine, daily inventory checks to ensure physical stock data and system stock data match.
- Liaising with the operations teams (logistics and pick/pack) on resolving any stock issues related to the picking of stock from storage locations.
- Proactively manage stock queries incorporating use of the stock query sheet.
- Assisting with stock replenishment processes.
- Communicating issues in relation to maintaining the integrity of physical stock versus the equivalent system stock to the site leadership.
- Proactively identifying stock issues (e.g., stock left in random locations) and either solving them directly or seeking assistance from team leadership.
- Returning stock from returned orders, over picks, and any other residual stock to its correct location.
- Carrying out any other stock-related activity.
- Assist with ensuring good general housekeeping standards are maintained in relation to stock storage.
Must-haves
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a busy warehousing environment.
- Experience in a logistics environment, specifically in resolving stock query-related issues.
- A good level of numeracy, computer literacy, and IT skills – specifically experience of working with SAP and/or Warehouse Management System software.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator (verbal and written).
- Flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritize.
- Team player but independent problem solver.
- Enthusiasm along with a can-do attitude.
